Strong objections to EMR proposals

At public meetings arranged by Ditton and East Malling parish councils and at an exhibition held by East Malling Trust at the Orchards Conference Centre residents have objected strongly to the proposals being floated by The Trust to build 1,600 homes on land between Kiln Barn Lane and Hermitage Lane. For East Malling, the proposals would involve a through road going across the main East Malling Research (NIAB) land feeding traffic into New Road and a consequential plan to shift cars from the High Street to a new car park near the allotments, involving demolition of some existing houses owned by the Trust.
