East Malling Trust plans 1,600 new homes

East Malling Trust is proposing a development of 1,600 homes on land between East Malling, Ditton and Allington. The site lies to the north of the Maidstone East railway line and south of the Quarry Wood Industrial Estate. Access would be via Hermitage Lane and Kiln Barn Road. There are also proposals for a public road to run through East Malling Research to join New Road East Malling.
The plan includes clearing parked cars from East Malling High Street and forcing residents into a new car park off the station car park access road. Demolition of some houses is required to achieve this. Neither the residents nor the Parish Council have been consulted in advance.
